About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027. You will work on-site in either Wausau, Wisconsin, or Altoona, Wisconsin. The program runs from June 7, 2027, through August 13, 2027. Candidates must be available for the full duration of the program.
What you'll do#
- Analyze credit information to support lending decisions for new and existing commercial banking loans.
- Perform financial analysis and calculations to provide recommendations to your manager.
- Prepare detailed credit summaries to assess creditworthiness.
- Support portfolio monitoring and compliance by analyzing metrics and industry trends.
- Structure and support new, renewal, and extension loans.
- Collaborate with Relationship Managers to build and maintain client relationships.
- Provide content for proposals and presentations to help capture new business.
- Identify revenue, cross-selling, and share of wallet opportunities.
- Manage timely and accurate data entry into bank systems.
- Minimize risk exposure by adhering to credit policies, regulatory standards, and operational guidelines.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a degree in Finance, Economics, or Business Administration.
- Foundational proficiency in financial analysis, loan structuring, credit risk assessment, and portfolio management.
- Familiarity with banking operations, data analysis tools, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to solve problems, think analytically, and pay close attention to detail.
- A collaborative mindset for working within a team.
- Prior experience in credit, lending instruments, or financial operations in a corporate or banking environment is preferred.
