About the role#
This is a full-time internship opportunity for the Winter 2027 term. You will join the BMO campus program, where you will gain hands-on experience by supporting cloud and infrastructure activities across various platforms. You will work within our technology group to build, maintain, and secure our systems while learning from experienced teams.
What you'll do#
- Provision, configure, and maintain system hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
- Build and operate computer networks, including the installation and maintenance of firewalls.
- Plan and manage hybrid cloud projects and develop service catalogue offerings for Public cloud and Software Defined Data Centre platforms.
- Provide architecting and engineering expertise for IaaS and PaaS solutions.
- Participate in DevOps infrastructure operations, including continuous integration and delivery requirements.
- Implement automation to improve operational efficiency, security, and cost management.
- Collect technical requirements, establish governance, and enforce quality standards for infrastructure architectures.
- Advise development teams on on-premise infrastructure for cloud migration and assist with application transformation.
- Perform disaster recovery operations, data backups, and oversee site reliability engineering (SRE) solutions.
- Deploy and debug code for cloud initiatives while adhering to risk management frameworks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an academic program with a plan to return to studies after the internship.
- Foundational proficiency in cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.
- Exposure to AI concepts and tools.
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, security, governance, and database management.
- Experience or understanding of Infrastructure as a Code (IaC), configuration management, and microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with application lifecycle management automation and source control management.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate in a team environment.
- Ability to adapt to new challenges and build professional relationships.
