About the role#
The Retail Lending AI Engineer Intern joins our Retail Lending Technology team for the Winter 2027 term. You will support the design, development, and testing of RESTful APIs, ETL integrations, and Power Platform solutions. This role focuses on emerging AI capabilities, including LLM-powered workflows, intelligent agents, and automated business processes. You will contribute to building secure, scalable microservices that support our digital payment systems.
What you'll do#
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs, ETL integrations, and AI-enabled workflows.
- Assist with requirements analysis and contribute to technical solutions.
- Develop microservices, LLM integrations, and intelligent agents.
- Participate in Agile SCRUM activities and support sprint delivery.
- Perform unit testing, QA triage, documentation, code reviews, and incident resolution.
- Work on API and integration modernization initiatives.
- Execute Power Platform automation and AI-assisted workflow projects.
- Develop proof-of-concept initiatives for LLM-based solutions.
- Collaborate with developers, architects, QA, Business Analysis, and Project Management teams.
- Coordinate with external vendors and internal IT teams during delivery and production support.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Academic, internship, or co-op experience in software development or technology delivery.
- Foundational knowledge of RESTful API development and basic understanding of ETL concepts.
- Basic experience with SQL Server databases.
- Familiarity with unit testing frameworks like JUnit and version control tools such as Git.
- Exposure to Jira, Confluence, or similar collaboration tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks.
- Self-motivated mindset with a willingness to learn.
- Exposure to API development, integration, or enterprise environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with J2EE/JEE frameworks like Spring MVC, Spring Security, Hibernate, or OAuth is a plus.
- Exposure to AI-enabled solutions, including LLM integrations or workflow automation, is a plus.
