About the role#
The Continuous Improvement Intern supports operational excellence and efficiency at Blount Fine Foods. You will work with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements. This program connects classroom concepts to real-world applications and includes regular meetings with the internship program lead.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the CI Engineer on the planning, coordination, and analysis of projects.
- Perform net weight and downtime analysis.
- Collect and provide data on production processes.
- Support process design, experimentation, optimization, and documentation to reduce waste.
- Help improve safety, cycle times, productivity, and process reliability.
- Create capacity and improve customer satisfaction regarding on-time delivery, yields, and quality.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college or university degree program or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations including ratios, percentages, and fractions.
- Skill in drawing and interpreting bar graphs.
- Ability to follow detailed written or oral instructions and solve problems with concrete variables.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
