About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineer Intern, you will work within our Buildings sub-discipline to support HVAC and Plumbing projects for water and industrial water solutions. This summer internship provides hands-on experience by allowing you to contribute to engineering analyses and infrastructure designs.
What you'll do#
- Develop, evaluate, and design specifications and contract drawings.
- Design systems including HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, standby power, and flood control.
- Prepare basic engineering calculations and assist in equipment selection.
- Perform tasks to support report production and design workflows.
- Coordinate project deliverables with other engineering disciplines.
- Collect, organize, and evaluate project data.
- Analyze systems using computer modeling software.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET accredited Mechanical or Chemical Engineering program.
- Strong mathematical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with computer tools and software.
- Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding, including background checks, drug screens, and motor vehicle record searches.
- Coursework in Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, and Fluid Dynamics is preferred.
