About the role#
As a Summer 2027 intern at Black & Veatch, you will join the Advanced Power Generation team. This full-time, paid internship provides hands-on experience at an employee-owned engineering, procurement, and construction company. You will work on infrastructure projects, participate in mentorship opportunities, and attend training sessions.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the development of electrical engineering deliverables such as reports, drawings, specifications, and studies.
- Support engineering analyses, designs, and report production.
- Collaborate with other disciplines to schedule project deliverables.
- Organize and evaluate data using computer modeling to analyze systems.
- Maintain project materials, references, and documentation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET accredited university Electrical Engineering program.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Knowledge of Power Systems, Motors, Transformers, Renewable Energy, Power Delivery, or Three Phase Power Calculations.
- Understanding of engineering design principles and design guides.
- Strong problem-solving skills and effective written communication.
- Ability to build professional relationships.
