About the role#
The Hardware Quality Co-op joins the Scoop™ engineering quality team to support testing for electromechanical systems. You will translate design intent and field observations into practical verification and validation methods. This role involves working with mechanical, electrical, software, and manufacturing teams to define acceptance criteria and improve system reliability.
What you'll do#
- Plan and run verification and validation tests for Scoop™ subassemblies, mechanisms, sensors, and system integration points.
- Create test procedures, setup instructions, and pass/fail criteria.
- Build and operate test fixtures to characterize design margins and validate requirements.
- Organize test results to identify trends, failure modes, and reliability improvements.
- Maintain documentation including test report templates, issue trackers, and acceptance criteria libraries.
- Support the reproduction of field issues using logs, video review, and sensor data.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including sensors, actuators, drawings, tolerances, and assembly variation.
- Experience with CAD software for reviewing or creating designs and test fixtures.
- Proficiency with data analysis or scripting tools such as Excel, Python, MATLAB, or Kibana.
- Ability to work in a hands-on lab and manufacturing environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting test plans and technical summaries.
