About the role#
As a Software Co-op, you will join our robotics software team to apply computer vision and machine learning techniques to automated systems. You will work with hardware, software, and systems engineers to prototype, validate, and test perception solutions. This role focuses on improving system performance and reliability through hands-on algorithm development and sensor evaluation.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and validate perception approaches.
- Develop and test computer vision and machine learning models, including depth completion, stereo vision, and object detection.
- Investigate vision-language models for tasks like grasp ranking, SKU identification, and anomaly detection.
- Use simulation tools to evaluate perception models and overall system performance.
- Write, debug, and deploy software components for robotic systems within a Linux and ROS environment.
- Document test results and share findings with the engineering team.
- Support the evaluation and benchmarking of perception sensors.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor or master degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
- Programming experience in Python or C++.
- Development experience in Linux (Ubuntu) and familiarity with ROS.
- Experience with machine learning or computer vision libraries like PyTorch or OpenCV.
- A solid grasp of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site role based in Bedford, Massachusetts.
- The term is for Winter 2027 (approximately January to June).
- This position is paid, with an hourly rate between $28 and $45.
