About the role#
As a Robot Learning R&D Co-op, you will join the Research and Advanced Development group to solve manipulation problems for real-world robotics. You will work across the full robotics stack, from low-level drivers to the orchestration systems in our robot proving ground. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position based in Bedford, Massachusetts, running during the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Build software infrastructure to deploy and evaluate learning-based manipulation capabilities.
- Train and adapt machine learning architectures for robot learning and visual scene understanding.
- Create tools to process, validate, visualize, and evaluate data from on-robot policy execution, including sensor data and system logs.
- Integrate new hardware and grippers into existing planning, perception, and robot-control systems.
- Use production data and internal development systems to implement and test your solutions.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an MS or PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
- Strong software development skills in Python, with C++ experience as a plus.
- Experience with modern machine learning methods like reinforcement learning, imitation learning, vision transformers, or generative models.
- Experience applying machine learning models to physical systems.
- Proficiency in Linux (Ubuntu) and ROS for robotics software development.

- Compensation: $45-$60 per hour.
