About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship running from May through August 2027. You will work on-site in El Paso, Illinois, gaining experience across several research modules. The role includes furnished housing or a stipend. You will take part in research learning modules covering planting, data collection, plot identification, and production.
What you'll do#
- Setup and plant research studies, including organizing seed and cleaning meter units.
- Flag and stake plots during the planting process.
- Collect, report, and analyze stand count data to compare fungicide and insecticide treatments.
- Thin plots to reach desired populations.
- Design and map test plots.
- Identify varieties and technologies by installing signs and stakes.
- Provide agronomic support to sales staff.
- Ride along with the PFR Location Lead on customer calls to evaluate product performance.
- Diagnose agronomic issues and assess hybrid performance in the field.
What you'll need#
- Undergraduate course work in an agriculture-related field.
- A valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record.
- Ability to obtain a Chauffeur license or equivalent if required.
- A farm background and general farm knowledge is helpful.
- Ability to pass a drug test and background check.
