About the role#
This paid internship offers hands-on experience within the Beck's Research Department during the summer of 2027. You will participate in various stages of corn and soybean research, including performance testing, product development, and breeding programs. This is a full-time, on-site role that requires overtime and overnight travel.
What you'll do#
- Prepare seed for the upcoming planting season.
- Travel to outlying locations to assist staff with planting test plots.
- Collect early and mid-season agronomic data.
- Work in the corn breeding nursery, including pollination tasks.
- Assist with tasks in molecular marker or transformation laboratories.
- Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college student.
- A valid driver's license and an insurable driving record.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to set priorities and work independently or as part of a team.
- A positive attitude and the ability to complete objectives without direct supervision.
- Experience in agriculture is preferred.
