About the role#
This paid internship offers hands-on experience in the agriculture industry. You will work with the Finance Department to learn about fixed assets, cash reconciliation, financial analysis, and tax compliance. The role runs from May to August 2027. We provide furnished housing or a stipend for the summer.
What you'll do#
- Learn and apply GAAP and corporate income tax principles.
- Assist with daily cash management and monthly reconciliations.
- Help track fixed assets, including depreciation calculations and disposals.
- Support the development of financial reporting packages and process documentation.
- Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Analyze financial statements to find efficiency improvements.
- Model operational and financial data to project corporate impacts.
- Identify and analyze potential business risks.
- Review tax returns and research tax issues.
- Complete assigned projects and other daily finance tasks.
What you'll need#
- Completion of your sophomore year of college.
- A focus of study in Accounting or Finance.
- A valid driver license and an insurable driving record.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well both independently and in a team.
- Basic computer and software skills.
- A farm background is helpful but not required.
