About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship during the summer of 2027. You will work with the Beck's Research Department to learn about corn and soybean research. You will gain experience in performance testing, product development, and breeding. Housing or a stipend is provided for this role.
What you'll do#
- Prepare seed for the upcoming planting season.
- Travel to outlying locations to assist with planting test plots.
- Collect early and mid-season agronomic notes.
- Assist with pollinating the corn breeding nursery.
- Help in molecular marker and transformation labs.
- Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a college student, preferably with a major in agriculture.
- A valid driver's license and an insurable driving record.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A positive attitude and the ability to set priorities.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Previous agriculture experience is helpful.
- Willingness to work overtime and travel overnight.
