About the role#
This position supports the construction of affordable single-family homes in the Waco area. You will work directly with the Construction Manager and the Director of Construction to manage daily site operations. This role involves both physical labor and volunteer coordination.
What you'll do#
- Prepare the job site for incoming volunteers.
- Supervise volunteers and homeowners during construction tasks.
- Deliver necessary materials to the work site.
- Assist with various building stages, from initial framing to final punch out items.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Operate power tools and move materials in and out of vehicles.
What you'll need#
- Eligibility for Federal Work Study.
- A valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
- Physical ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Comfort standing, walking, climbing, and bending for the majority of the day.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work with staff, families, and diverse community groups.
- Preference for students majoring in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, Sociology, or Psychology.

- Location: Waco, Texas.
- Term: Summer 2026 and Fall 2026.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Up to 20 hours per week, Tuesday through Saturday.
