About the role#
The Student Union Operations Assistant works within the Bill Daniel Student Center, often called the heart of the campus. This role provides technical, maintenance, and event support to guests and partners. You will help maintain the building and assist with daily operations to support the Department of Student Activities.
What you'll do#
- Deliver customer service to visitors and answer inquiries.
- Assist with event planning, coordination, and hospitality services.
- Provide technical support for audio and visual equipment.
- Set up and break down meeting spaces and student organization tabling.
- Guide guests to room locations.
- Monitor building cleanliness and trash levels.
- Perform general office tasks, including filing and reporting while maintaining information confidentiality.
- Answer phones using professional etiquette.
- Coordinate with Housekeeping staff.
What you'll need#
- Ability to follow University policies.
- Regular and punctual attendance.
- Capacity to prioritize tasks and take initiative.
- Experience with Ad Astra is welcomed but not required.
Location & details#
- Location: Bill Daniel Student Center, Waco, Texas.
- Schedule: Morning shifts are required. Specific availability is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7am to 9am, and Wednesday from 10am to 12pm. A 15-minute grace period is available for class transitions.
- Pay: $9.00 per hour.
- Status: Part-time, on-site, and ongoing.
