    About the role#

    The Student Athletics Facilities and Operations Assistant supports the daily functions of athletic facilities and events. This role provides hands-on experience in sports facility management while working with athletics staff, coaches, student-athletes, and campus partners. This is a part-time position requiring 5 to 15 hours per week.

    What you'll do#

    • Set up and tear down athletic facilities for games, practices, meetings, camps, and clinics.
    • Prepare competition spaces by managing equipment, signage, seating, and tables.
    • Assist with game-day operations and provide support during home athletic competitions.
    • Maintain the inventory of athletics-owned equipment and supplies.
    • Perform facility checks to ensure spaces are clean, organized, and event-ready.
    • Help athletics staff with event logistics and general operational needs.

    What you'll need#

    • You must be an enrolled student at American University.
    • You must have an active Federal Work Study (FWS) award.

    • Location: Main Campus, Washington, DC.

    • Compensation: $18.40 per hour.
