About the role#
This position provides lab and research support for the BIO 1105 and 1106 courses at Baylor University. You will assist lab coordinators with the setup and breakdown of weekly labs, including cleaning, inventory audits, and stocking supplies. This role offers the opportunity to learn lab operations, equipment maintenance, and data archiving processes.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of weekly laboratory sessions.
- Maintain lab equipment and manage inventory or supplies.
- Perform or assist with research activities and experiments.
- Clean and organize lab spaces.
- Prepare research reports and assist with analyzing, testing, and interpreting data.
- Document research projects and prepare equipment and data for archiving.
- Ensure all safety procedures and precautions are followed.
What you'll need#
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Preference is given to students who have completed the 1105 and 1106 labs.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- A self-starter mindset with a good work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
- Reliability regarding attendance and compliance with University policies.
Location & details#
- Location: Waco, Texas, at the Baylor Science Building.
- Schedule: 8 hours per week.
- Term: Fall 2026 and Spring 2027.
- Pay: $10 per hour.
- Work Modality: On-site.
