About the role#
The Advanced Research Computing Center (ARCC) hires students to assist with computational research support. You will work directly with ARCC staff to help meet team goals through various technical and administrative tasks.
What you'll do#
- Provide user support and perform technical research.
- Assist with coding, scripting, and systems administration projects.
- Complete office-related tasks as assigned.
- Work under supervision to contribute to ARCC team objectives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a University of Wyoming degree program.
- Ability to work in-person on the Laramie campus.
- Capacity to sign a confidentiality agreement.
- Strong ability to learn new technological concepts.
- Ability to work well in a team and follow detailed verbal instructions.
- Flexibility to handle various types of assigned work.
- Proficiency with Linux command line and at least one scripting language like Python, R, or Bash.
- Knowledge of High-Performance Computing (HPC).
- Strong technical writing skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
