About the role#
This student laboratory assistant position supports advanced chemistry laboratories, including Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry. You will work alongside an experienced assistant to learn the necessary procedures before performing tasks independently. During your final semester, you will help train a new student assistant to ensure continuity.
What you'll do#
- Take inventories at the start of each semester and notify the professor of needed purchases.
- Condition equipment like pH meters.
- Maintain stock solutions such as acetate buffer and Biuret reagent.
- Prepare chemical samples for student experiments, including pre-stained protein samples for SDS-PAGE.
- Clean and organize the lab space before and after each weekly lab session.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- You must be a currently enrolled Delaware Valley University student.
- You must be authorized to work in the United States.
- You have completed and passed General Chemistry courses, including the laboratory component.
- You have completed and passed the Safety course with the DelVal Chemistry department.
- You are enrolled in or have completed advanced chemistry laboratory courses.
- The role requires standing, walking, and occasionally lifting up to 25 lbs. You may need to climb ladders or scaffolds and use tools that require high dexterity. You will work in an environment with exposure to chemicals and various odors.

- This position is located in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.
- This is an on-site, part-time role.
- The position is paid at $10 per hour.
- Hiring is on a rolling basis.
