Student Worker - Baylor Experience and Admissions Representative (BEAR)

About the role#

Baylor Experience and Admissions Representatives (BEARs) serve as representatives of Baylor University within the Undergraduate Admissions department. Working from the Hurd Welcome Center, these students share their personal experiences with prospective students, parents, and university guests to support recruitment efforts. This role emphasizes professional development, teamwork, and high-quality service.

What you'll do#

• Perform business operations duties and assist with various projects and activities.
• Provide customer service to guests, including prospective students and parents.
• Conduct 90-minute walking tours of campus and operate golf cart shuttles upon approval.
• Assist with the set up and tear down of recruitment events.
• Maintain regular attendance and adhere to university policies.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a full-time student (minimum 12 credit hours) at Baylor University.
• Ability to work at least 8 hours per week and attend 5 weekend events per semester.
• Attendance at all mandatory trainings and staff meetings.
• Capability to stand for extended periods and lift 10-15 pounds.
• Strong communication skills, dependability, and a professional demeanor.
• Major in Business Administration is preferred.

Location & details#

• Location: Mark and Paula Hurd Center, Waco, Texas.
• Schedule: Flexible, up to 20 hours per week between 7:30 am and 5:30 pm, including some weekends.
• Compensation: $10.00 per hour.
• Term: Opportunities beginning Summer 2026 or Fall 2026.
