About the role#
Baylor Experience and Admissions Representatives (BEARs) are a select group of students who work with Undergraduate Admissions to facilitate and enhance student recruitment. Based at the Hurd Welcome Center, BEARs serve as representatives to prospective students, parents, and university guests, sharing their experiences while demonstrating the values and character of the university.
What you'll do#
- Perform business operations duties for assigned areas of responsibility.
- Provide customer service to guests and clients.
- Assist with projects, activities, and tasks related to business operations.
- Conduct 90-minute walking tours of campus.
- Operate a golf cart shuttle, subject to approval from Baylor Risk Management.
- Assist with the setup and teardown of recruitment events.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time student (minimum 12 credit hours) at Baylor University.
- Ability to work at least 8 hours per week and attend 5 weekend events per semester.
- Capability to stand for extended periods and lift 10-15 pounds.
- Commitment to attend all mandatory trainings and staff meetings.
- Professionalism in appearance, guest interactions, and collaboration with co-workers.
- Preferred major: Business Administration.
Location & details#
- Location: Mark and Paula Hurd Center, Waco, Texas.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Flexible hours between 7:30 am and 5:30 pm, with some weekend requirements.
- Employment Terms: Summer 2026 or Fall 2026 start date.
- Compensation: Paid position at $10.00 per hour.
