About the role#
Baylor Experience and Admissions Representatives (BEARs) serve as representatives of Baylor University within the Undergraduate Admissions department. Working out of the Hurd Welcome Center, you will share your personal experiences with prospective students, parents, and campus guests to assist in recruitment efforts. This role emphasizes professional development, teamwork, and high-quality customer service.
What you'll do#
- Perform business operations duties for your assigned area.
- Provide excellent customer service to all guests.
- Assist with various projects, activities, and tasks related to business operations.
- Conduct 90-minute walking tours of the campus.
- Operate a golf cart shuttle, subject to approval from Baylor Risk Management.
- Assist with the setup and teardown of recruitment events.
- Maintain regular attendance and adhere to university policies.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a full-time student (minimum 12 credit hours) at Baylor University.
- Availability to work at least 8 hours per week and 5 weekend events per semester.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 10-15 pounds.
- Professionalism in appearance, communication, and interactions with guests and coworkers.
- Commitment to attend all mandatory training sessions and staff meetings.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and take initiative.
Location & details#
- Location: Mark and Paula Hurd Center, Waco, Texas.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $10.00 per hour.
- Schedule: Flexible hours between 7:30 am and 5:30 pm, with some weekend requirements.
- Start Date: Summer 2026 or Fall 2026.
