Office Assistant - Honors Residential College - BC

About the role#

The Office Assistant provides administrative support for the Honors Residential College at Baylor University. This position serves as a resource for residents, faculty, staff, and visitors while contributing to the safety and security of the residential community. This is a paid, on-site student worker position for the Fall 2026 term.

What you'll do#

• Monitor door security and report issues to hall staff.
• Provide administrative support to residents, including room access assistance and equipment check-outs.
• Maintain accurate log books for unlock codes, maintenance requests, lost and found, and equipment.
• Greet visitors and provide customer service in line with department standards.
• Assist with general clerical tasks such as filing, correspondence, data entry, and office organization.
• Help residents communicate concerns to the appropriate hall staff.
• Enforce residential policies and procedures.

What you'll need#

• Proficiency in typing.
• Ability to learn and utilize front desk computer software.
• Capability to handle administrative tasks and maintain office records.
• Skill in providing customer service to a diverse population.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong time management and sound judgment when responding to needs or crises.
• Majors in Business Administration, Psychology, Communications, or Human Resources are preferred.

• Location: Honors Residential College, Waco, Texas.
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Schedule: Flexible hours, ranging from 5 to 20 hours per week, including weekdays and weekends.
