About the role#
This position supports middle school and 9th-grade students by providing targeted math tutoring. Tutors assist students with homework and GED preparation while representing Baylor University in the local community. This role requires a commitment to maintaining accurate service logs and attending professional development sessions to improve tutoring effectiveness.
What you'll do#
- Provide academic support to students in math-related subjects.
- Coordinate with the tutoring manager regarding the scheduling, implementation, and evaluation of services.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with students and CIS staff.
- Ensure program objectives are met according to contractual requirements.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation, including detailed service logs for every student.
- Attend all required meetings, trainings, and functions.
- Assist with planning and implementing community programs as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at Baylor University with Federal Work Study eligibility.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Computer proficiency.
- Ability to function effectively in diverse job situations.
- Reliable transportation to and from the work site.
- Ability to clear a criminal background check.
- Preferred majors include Mathematics, Psychology, Communications, Sociology, or Public Health.
- Spanish speaking skills are considered a plus.
