About the role#
This position supports high school students with reading and homework assistance. Tutors work in a student employee capacity to assist external community service partners and ensure program objectives are met.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate with the CIS Volunteer Director regarding scheduling and the implementation of tutoring services.
- Assist students with reading assignments and homework.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with students and CIS staff.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation, including service logs for each student.
- Attend required meetings, professional trainings, and other functions.
- Maintain a working knowledge of CIS and district policies and procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at Baylor University with federal work study eligibility.
- Proficiency in Spanish.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Computer proficiency.
- Ability to transport yourself to and from the work site.
- Ability to function in diverse job situations and maintain a professional appearance.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check.
