About the role#
This summer internship provides hands-on experience with enterprise security technologies and processes. You will work with the IT Security team at our headquarters in Bismarck to protect information systems, networks, and data. This is a full-time, temporary position running from approximately May 17, 2027, through August 20, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Monitor security alerts and events from various tools and platforms.
- Support vulnerability management, including scanning, tracking, and validating remediation efforts.
- Assist with identity and access management processes like user access reviews.
- Help with security projects covering endpoint protection, cloud security solutions, and certificate lifecycle management.
- Participate in security assessments, audits, and compliance documentation.
- Research emerging threats and industry best practices.
- Create and update security procedures, standards, and awareness materials.
What you'll need#
- You are at least 18 years old and hold a valid driver license.
- You maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5.
- You are currently enrolled as a full-time student in a two-year Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related program with at least one year completed, or you are a recent graduate of such a program within the last 12 months.
- Alternatively, you are enrolled as a full-time student in a four-year Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or EAC/ABET Computer Engineering program with at least two years completed.
- You must provide a transcript at the time of your application.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel is required.
- Previous internship experience and relevant certifications are preferred.
- This role involves physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds and working with small hand tools.
