About the role#
This summer internship at the Pioneer Generation Station in Williston, North Dakota, offers hands-on experience in the utilities sector. You will work with the engineering team to support plant operations and reliability initiatives. This is a full-time, paid position running from approximately May 17, 2027, through August 20, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Create and edit engineering documents.
- Perform equipment walk downs and collect field data.
- Assist with small projects and technical data research.
- Help organize and update the plant drawing system.
- Support reliability engineering initiatives and plant documentation.
- Provide technical assistance to hourly plant employees.
- Collect and evaluate plant data.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Enrollment as a full-time student in an ABET-accredited Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering program.
- Completion of your sophomore year or graduation within the past 12 months.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5.
- A valid driver's license.
- You must attach a copy of your transcript to your application for it to be considered.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Previous internship or relevant work experience is preferred.
- Additional certifications or coursework in your field of study are a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: Williston, North Dakota.
- Modality: On-site.
- Pay: $26.50 per hour.
- Physical requirements: This role involves fieldwork that may include lifting up to 50 pounds, working at heights up to 250 feet, and exposure to various environmental conditions such as heat, cold, and noise. You must be respirator qualified.
