About the role#
This internship is based at the Leland Olds Station in Stanton, North Dakota. You will support the maintenance and development of safety and compliance management systems. The role focuses on preventing workplace accidents and injuries while ensuring the plant maintains its operational capability.
What you'll do#
- Support Compliance, Safety, and Industrial Hygiene programs to meet regulatory standards.
- Conduct industrial hygiene surveys to evaluate employee exposure to physical agents and hazardous chemicals.
- Advise field supervision on the selection and use of protective equipment.
- Assist in developing and presenting safety training programs for staff.
- Help investigate basic accidents or injuries and prepare internal reports for corrective action.
- Manage the development of company Safety Data Sheets and maintain the SDS database.
- Conduct Continuous Improvement Observations and perform follow-up tasks.
- Assist with the administration of various safety programs and maintain accurate records.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a full-time student in a four-year Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, or related program.
- Completion of your sophomore year or graduation within the past 12 months.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5.
- You must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driver license.
- Ability to meet respirator qualification standards and operate a motor vehicle.
- A copy of your transcript is required at the time of application.
- Previous internship or relevant work experience is preferred, as are additional certifications in your field.
