About the role#
This is a summer internship based in Menoken, North Dakota. You will work with Protection, Controls, and Relaying Engineers to support the design and maintenance of electrical protection systems. This role runs from approximately May 17, 2027, through August 20, 2027. It is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with Protection, Controls, and Relaying Engineers on electrical protection systems.
- Maintain the database for ASPEN OneLiner Fault Analysis software.
- Assist with the development or modification of protective relay settings.
- Learn about the bulk electric system and electrical topology.
- Work with field and drafting personnel to complete and provide quality control for record drawings.
- Ensure Switching Diagrams are available and updated.
- Validate that relays are communicating with Tarigma GEM.
- Perform a sweep of the CIP Baseline document to verify internal compliance audits.
- Assist with ensuring compliance with NERC regulations, including CIP, PRC, and FAC standards.
What you'll need#
- At least 18 years of age.
- Enrolled as a full-time student in a four-year Electrical Engineering program (EAC/ABET accredited) with sophomore year completed, or a recent graduate within the last 12 months.
- Minimum GPA of 2.5.
- Valid driver's license.
- A copy of your transcript attached to your application.
- Previous internship or relevant work experience is preferred.
- Additional certifications or coursework in the field are a plus.
