About the role#
This summer internship provides hands-on experience supporting Transmission System Maintenance (TSM) technicians. You will work alongside system protection technicians, substation electricians, and telecom technicians at our Beulah location. This is a paid, full-time position for the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the inspection, repair, and testing of substation and telecom equipment.
- Help with relay testing and NERC Protection and Control (PRC-005) testing.
- Maintain accurate documentation by filing prints and test records at shop and substation locations.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the technical team.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driver's license.
- Enrollment as a full-time student in a two-year Electronic or Electrical Technology program with at least two semesters completed.
- Recent graduates of a relevant program or certificate program within the last 12 months are also eligible.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required.
- You must provide a transcript at the time of application.
- Preference is given to candidates with previous internship experience, relevant work history, or additional technical coursework.

- Location: Beulah, North Dakota.
- Term: Summer 2027 (approximately May 17 through August 20).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- This role involves physical demands including lifting up to 50 pounds, working at heights, and exposure to various field conditions. You will use various electrical test equipment and shop tools.
