About the role#
Bascom Hunter is looking for a creative and technically minded intern to help develop visual content for our aerospace and defense technologies. You will work with our marketing and engineering teams to turn complex technical concepts into clear visual communications. This role involves creating graphics, animations, and product renderings for various platforms. It is a paid position that offers hands-on experience with real engineering programs.
What you'll do#
- Create graphics, layouts, and illustrations for digital and print media.
- Develop 2D or 3D animations to explain technical concepts, product functions, and system operations.
- Produce product renderings for presentations, websites, videos, and trade shows.
- Work with engineering teams to ensure accurate representation of products and technologies.
- Create motion graphics and assist with video editing, including post-production and visual effects.
- Support the creation of diagrams, infographics, and technical illustrations.
- Maintain brand standards and organize digital assets like photos, videos, and animation files.
- Adapt creative assets for different platforms and dimensions.
- Assist with photography and video content as needed.
What you'll need#
- You must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Animation, Motion Graphics, Digital Media, Visual Communication, 3D Design, or a related field.
- A portfolio or examples of your design work are required.
- Strong grasp of design principles like typography, composition, and visual hierarchy.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, or Premiere Pro.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Interest in aerospace, defense, engineering, or technical communications.
- Experience with 3D modeling or rendering software like Blender, Cinema 4D, Maya, or 3ds Max is a plus.
- Familiarity with converting CAD models into presentation-quality renderings is helpful.
- Previous internship, freelance, or academic project experience is preferred.
