About the role#
As a Student Respiratory Care Practitioner, you will provide technical support and patient care under the supervision of a Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner. This role focuses on helping our clinical team achieve quality outcomes for patients while you build your own professional knowledge and clinical leadership skills.
What you'll do#
- Set up and monitor low-flow oxygen therapy.
- Administer non-exotic aerosol treatments, such as bronchodilators.
- Perform hyperinflation and airway clearance therapies.
- Conduct electrocardiograms.
- Assist with equipment cleaning, stocking, and transport.
- Help with cardiorespiratory arrests once certified in Basic Life Support.
- Assess patients and contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of care plans.
- Participate in ongoing educational activities and quality improvement projects.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a second-year student in an accredited AS Respiratory Care program or status as a senior-year candidate in an accredited BS program within one year of graduation.
- Strong academic standing that meets or exceeds all program requirements.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Ability to obtain BLS certification within 14 days of your hire date.
