About the role#
Baird Trust manages over 24 billion in Large Cap Equity and Equity Income strategies. The team focuses on long-term business ownership, with an average holding period exceeding 10 years. We look for high-quality, competitively advantaged businesses managed by talented teams. As an intern, you will work full time during the summer to gain an inside look at the role of an equity research analyst.
What you'll do#
- Shadow and contribute to research projects directed by portfolio managers and analysts.
- Research specific stocks and industries based on current portfolio needs.
- Investigate companies we own, watch list companies, or industries of interest.
- Create company and portfolio analysis using FactSet data.
- Present investment findings and discuss your thesis on an idea.
- Complete a full stock write-up and pitch it to the investment team.
- Prepare for and potentially participate in analyst meetings and conference calls.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a quantitative discipline with an anticipated graduation of May 2029.
- Applied investment programs are preferred.
- Curiosity regarding how businesses work and an interest in the stock market.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Professionalism, maturity, and sound judgment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of FactSet is a plus.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site, full-time internship located in Louisville, Kentucky.
- The term is for Summer 2027, starting in June 2027.
- Expect to work 37.5 to 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
- This position does not offer employment visa sponsorship.
