About the role#
The Public Finance team offers underwriting, advisory, and consulting services to municipalities, schools, government agencies, and nonprofits. As an intern, you will work directly with Public Finance Bankers to support client needs and gain a practical understanding of debt structuring and credit analysis.
What you'll do#
- Participate as a full member of the team on meaningful projects.
- Research market trends and compile financial or operating data for clients.
- Support the deal process while following industry rules and regulations.
- Maintain current client debt profiles.
- Proofread and edit written materials for accuracy.
- Answer incoming calls and route inquiries as needed.
- Attend client-facing meetings alongside bankers.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field.
- An anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- High attention to detail and a proactive, motivated mindset.
- Prior office experience or a previous internship is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship based in our downtown Louisville, KY office.
- The term runs during the summer of 2027, starting in June.
- Work hours are 37.5 to 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
- We are not offering employment visa sponsorship for this position.
