About the role#
AtkinsRéalis is hiring a Transportation Planning Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This position is based in Atlanta, Georgia, and requires on-site work. You will focus on transportation planning tasks with an interest in the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
What you'll do#
- Assist with the preparation of screening assessments under supervision.
- Create graphics, maps, spreadsheets, databases, and tables for technical reports.
- Participate in project site assessments and field work activities.
- Conduct data processing tasks.
- Assist with public engagement efforts, including the creation of informative materials.
What you'll need#
- Completed at least 60 hours toward a bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or a related field by Summer 2027.
- Experience with coursework involving research, data analysis, and technical report production.
- Basic knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and ArcPro GIS.
- Ability to organize files and use standard business writing.
- Experience reading maps or construction plans.
- Ability to drive and work at outdoor project sites.

- Compensation: $23 to $29 per hour, depending on experience and skills.
