About the role#
AtkinsRéalis is looking for a Civil Engineering Intern to join our team in Nashville for the Summer 2027 term. This is a paid, part-time, on-site position where you will work on civil aviation infrastructure projects. You will gain hands-on experience while working alongside experienced engineers and multidisciplinary teams.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the design and development of civil aviation infrastructure.
- Prepare and revise engineering drawings.
- Perform basic calculations for grading, drainage, utilities, runways, taxiways, and site development.
- Conduct quantity takeoffs, material estimates, and cost calculations.
- Review contractor submittals, requests for information, survey data, maps, and project specifications.
- Help prepare technical reports, permit applications, and construction documents.
- Research applicable codes, regulations, and design standards.
- Participate in project meetings and coordinate with team members.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least 60 hours toward a civil engineering degree.
- Current enrollment in an ABET accredited Civil Engineering program.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bluebeam REVU, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to perform quantity takeoffs and technical writing.
