About the role#
The Archives Spring Intern will support the Library and Archives team at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. This position offers hands-on experience in an art museum setting, focusing on the arrangement, digitization, and description of archival collections. You will work primarily with born-digital materials and assist with institutional records under the guidance of the Assistant Archivist.
What you'll do#
- Assist staff with the assessment, arrangement, and stabilization of physical records.
- Create inventories, conduct research, and rehouse materials.
- Digitize archival records, including naming, describing, and organizing digital files.
- Help create archival database records and collection finding aids.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited program or graduation within the past three years for bachelor's or master's eligibility.
- Academic background in library or information science, art history, or a related field.
- Superior oral and written communication skills.
- Dependability and punctuality.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft apps.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all non-public museum information.
- Successful completion of a background check.
- Familiarity with archival databases like ArchivEra and digitization equipment is a plus.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site role based in Bentonville, Arkansas.
- The internship term runs from January 25, 2027, to April 30, 2027.
- This is a part-time, paid position.
- Physical requirements include the ability to lift and transport a minimum of 10 pounds, as well as bending and stretching.
