About the role#
This internship is open to current students in the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville MA in Art History program. Reporting to the Windgate Curator of Craft, you will support exhibition development, object research, and interpretive writing. You will gain professional experience by contributing to initiatives related to the museum craft collection, which ranges from historical to contemporary works.
What you'll do#
- Build object files for works in ceramics, wood, fiber, glass, and metal.
- Fact-check information, write object-related content, and prepare presentations for internal and external audiences.
- Conduct research on potential acquisitions to support the growth of the museum holdings in American craft.
- Perform research, interpretation, and checklist organization for future exhibition projects.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville MA program in Art History.
- An interest in American craft, from historical to contemporary periods.
- Demonstrated research and writing skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Proficiency in using standard office equipment such as copiers and telephones.
- A positive attitude and collaborative spirit.
- Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality and discretion.
Location & details#
- This position is located in Bentonville, Arkansas.
- Work is performed on-site.
- The internship runs from January 25, 2027, to April 30, 2027.
- This is a part-time role requiring a minimum of 10 hours per week and a maximum of 20 hours per week.
- Compensation for graduate students is $14.00 per hour.
