About the role#
This internship provides hands-on training in behavioral health. You will gain experience in assessments, treatment planning, and providing ongoing counseling services. We work with your academic program to ensure you meet your specific requirements and gain experience for your career.
What you'll do#
- Conduct person-centered assessments covering behavioral health, education, vocational needs, relationships, and community engagement.
- Collaborate with clients, families, and referral agencies to develop service or treatment plans.
- Deliver interventions based on client activities and participation.
- Connect clients with necessary community resources and support services.
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation.
- Participate in team and inter-agency meetings.
- Assist clients and families with aftercare planning.
- Build relationships with community partners to help clients navigate systems of care.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Master’s degree program for Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related licensure-track field.
- Completion of a Master’s-level practicum is preferred.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and a drug screening.
