About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in clinical behavioral health. You will work within our outpatient team to gain practical training in assessments, treatment planning, and counseling services. We coordinate with your academic program to ensure you meet your specific requirements while building professional skills.
What you'll do#
- Conduct person-centered assessments covering behavioral health, education, vocational needs, relationships, and community engagement.
- Collaborate with clients, families, and referral agencies to develop service or treatment plans.
- Deliver activity- and participation-based interventions tailored to individual client needs.
- Connect clients with necessary community resources and support services.
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in a timely manner.
- Participate in team and inter-agency meetings.
- Assist clients and families with aftercare planning.
- Build relationships with community partners to help clients navigate systems of care.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related licensure-track field.
- Completion of a Master’s-level practicum is preferred.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and a drug screening.
