About the role#
This foundational internship provides students with hands-on experience in mental and behavioral health. You will start by observing therapy activities before moving into direct client care through assessments and treatment planning. We work with your academic program to ensure the experience meets your specific educational requirements.
What you'll do#
- Conduct person-centered assessments covering behavioral health, education, vocational needs, relationships, and community engagement.
- Collaborate with clients, families, and referral agencies to develop service or treatment plans.
- Provide interventions based on client activities and participation.
- Connect clients with necessary community resources and support services.
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation.
- Participate in team and inter-agency meetings.
- Assist clients and their families with aftercare planning.
- Build relationships with community partners and help clients navigate systems of care.
- Observe ongoing therapy activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Social Work or a related licensure-track field.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Ability to pass a drug screening.
