About the role#
We are looking for a Civil Engineering Intern to join our team in Allentown. You will work under supervision to apply standard engineering techniques to various site development and infrastructure projects. This role offers exposure to the full design and development process, from initial planning through permitting and construction.
What you'll do#
- Assist with civil site design tasks, including land development, drainage, stormwater, utility, water, wastewater, and site improvement projects.
- Support engineers with project data collection, basic engineering calculations, reports, specifications, schedules, and other project documentation.
- Help prepare plans, exhibits, maps, and other design documents for municipal and infrastructure projects.
- Conduct field investigations and site visits to document existing infrastructure and site conditions.
- Coordinate with municipalities, utility companies, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
- Review civil drawings and project documents for accuracy and completeness.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering field.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a solid work ethic.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
- Familiarity with engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or GIS is helpful but not required.
