About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers on real-world projects. You will gain hands-on experience in structural engineering while applying your academic knowledge to professional design tasks. The position is a full-time, paid internship scheduled for the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Perform lateral force calculations for wind and seismic design.
- Design roof and floor framing members, including sizing beams and joists.
- Develop wall framing and foundation element designs.
- Create 3D analytical models of building components.
- Produce structural details and sketch engineered connection details.
- Use Revit or AutoCAD for project drafting.
- Participate in occasional site visits or field trips to review projects under construction.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Structural, Civil, or Architectural Engineering degree program.
- Completion of Junior level coursework.
- Strong analytical, conceptual, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis software.

- Location: Tacoma, Washington.
- Term: Summer 2027 (12-14 weeks).

- Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week).
