About the role#
As a Civil Engineer Intern, you will join a design team to work on real client projects throughout the summer. You will gain hands-on experience in land development and site design while building professional skills through structured training and mentorship. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Venice, Florida.
What you'll do#
- Design and draft land development plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Support the production of design documents, including calculations and permit filings.
- Perform code and ordinance research for various projects.
- Prepare site, grading, and utility plans to illustrate site developability.
- Calculate stormwater management requirements and help draft stormwater pollution prevention plans.
- Attend site visits to collect data for design work.
- Participate in project team meetings to review timelines, budgets, and design constraints.
- Meet with internal and external clients to discuss project direction.
- Attend technical and professional development training sessions.
- Meet regularly with an assigned mentor and attend office hours with company leadership.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a BS in Engineering from an accredited university.
- Familiarity with CAD software.
- A focused, motivated, and results-oriented mindset.
- Strong desire to learn and advance technical skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and accept constructive feedback.
- Team-oriented approach with solid communication skills.
