About the role#
As a Civil Engineer Intern at CAGE Engineering, you will work on active client projects from your first day. You will spend your summer developing technical skills in AutoCAD Civil 3D and site design while building professional relationships. You will be paired with a mentor and have access to weekly office hours with company leaders to discuss your progress and ask questions.
What you'll do#
- Design and draft land development plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Support the production of design documents, including code and ordinance research.
- Prepare site, grading, and utility plans.
- Help create preliminary and final construction documents, stormwater pollution prevention plans, and permit documents.
- Participate in meetings with internal and external clients to review concept plans.
- Attend site visits to gather design data and join team meetings to discuss project timelines and constraints.
- Participate in technical and professional development training sessions.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a BS in Engineering from an accredited university.
- Familiarity with CAD software.
- A focused, motivated, and results-oriented mindset.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
- A desire to learn and advance your technical skills.
Location & details#
- This role is located in Charlotte, North Carolina.
- This is an on-site, full-time position for Summer 2027.
- The role is paid, starting at $25 per hour.
