About the role#
This position is for a Student Worker Lead based at the University of Central Florida. You will supervise and manage daily food operations, ensuring that quality and safety standards are met. This role involves mentoring team members, managing inventory, and maintaining equipment logs. You must be a current student at this location to be eligible.
What you'll do#
- Direct daily activities and manage work schedules for the food service team.
- Ensure food production follows safety and quality policies.
- Maintain accurate weekly inventory and prepare orders as needed.
- Supervise employees, evaluate performance, and promote team growth.
- Train and mentor other food service workers.
- Perform preventative maintenance checks on equipment and recommend replacements.
- Assist with catering events, which may include occasional nights and weekends.
- Fill in for absent staff and perform cashier duties when required.
What you'll need#
- Ability to read, write, and understand verbal instructions.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
- Proficiency in basic arithmetic.
- Ability to maintain emotional control under stress and resolve interpersonal situations.
- Completion of a sanitation course, either before or during your first year.
- Preferred majors include Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Nursing, or Public Health.
