About the role#
The Student Worker Lead oversees daily food operations at the Temple University location. You will manage staff, maintain food quality standards, and ensure the facility runs efficiently. This role requires a balance of administrative tasks and hands-on support in the kitchen and serving areas.
What you'll do#
- Create work schedules and prepare production records.
- Direct daily activities and supervise food service staff.
- Train and mentor team members to improve efficiency and teamwork.
- Ensure all food is stored, prepared, and served according to safety and health codes.
- Manage weekly inventory and prepare necessary orders.
- Complete equipment maintenance logs and perform preventative checks.
- Fill in for absent staff members as needed.
- Communicate with the team and attend regular food service meetings.
- Handle cashier duties and assist with catering events when required.
- Recommend equipment replacements to meet facility needs.
What you'll need#
- Current student status at the Aramark location.
- Ability to read, write, and understand verbal instructions.
- Proficiency in basic arithmetic.
- Completion of a sanitation course, either before or during your first year.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to resolve interpersonal situations.
- Ability to maintain emotional control in stressful situations.
- Knowledge of operating an efficient, cost-effective program.
