About the role#
The Student Worker Lead oversees daily food operations at the University of Tennessee Starbucks location. This is a paid, on-site internship for Summer 2026. You will manage staff, ensure food safety, and maintain the efficiency of the department.
What you'll do#
- Produce and maintain work schedules while directing daily activities.
- Supervise, evaluate, and mentor other food service workers.
- Maintain a sanitary department that follows health and safety codes.
- Manage weekly inventory and prepare orders to ensure accurate production.
- Perform equipment maintenance checks and recommend replacements when necessary.
- Assist with catering events, which may include occasional nights and weekends.
- Fill in for absent staff and perform cashier duties as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current student status at the Aramark location.
- Ability to read, write, and understand verbal instructions.
- Basic arithmetic skills and strong organizational habits.
- Knowledge of how to run an efficient, cost-effective program.
- Completion of a sanitation course before or during your first year.
- Ability to maintain emotional control under stress and resolve interpersonal situations.
- Preferred majors include Business Administration, Health Administration, Nursing, or Civil Engineering.
