About the role#
The Student Worker Lead supervises and manages food operations at the University of South Carolina. This position involves directing daily activities, training staff, and ensuring that food production meets safety and quality standards. You will handle administrative tasks such as scheduling and inventory management while maintaining a clean and safe environment for both employees and guests.
What you'll do#
- Produce work schedules and prepare production records.
- Direct daily operations and supervise other food service workers.
- Monitor food storage, serving schedules, and menu specifications.
- Train and mentor team members to encourage growth and teamwork.
- Maintain accurate weekly inventory and prepare orders.
- Perform equipment maintenance checks and log repairs.
- Fill in for absent staff members as needed.
- Handle cashier duties and assist with catering events, including some nights and weekends.
- Attend staff meetings and communicate regularly with the management team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at the Aramark location.
- Ability to read, write, and understand verbal instructions.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to perform basic arithmetic.
- Capacity to maintain emotional control in stressful situations.
- Skills to resolve interpersonal conflicts.
- Completion of a sanitation course before or during the first year of employment.
- Knowledge of operating a cost-effective program.
