About the role#
As a Student Worker, you will maintain a clean and safe environment at Valdosta State University. This role focuses on the upkeep of assigned areas to meet client standards. You will work on-site in a full-time capacity with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Clean and maintain assigned areas according to established standards.
- Handle the storage and disposal of trash by transporting it to designated locations.
- Keep housekeeping equipment in good working order.
- Report maintenance issues by submitting work order requests.
- Secure the facility by locking and unlocking buildings as required.
- Follow safety procedures, including those related to hazardous chemicals and OSHA regulations.
What you'll need#
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull more than 50 lbs.
- Physical capability to perform tasks involving bending, standing, and walking.
- Willingness to wear a uniform or use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed.
- Previous custodial experience is preferred.
- Majors in Business Administration, Psychology, Sociology, or Environmental Engineering are welcome.
