About the role#
This position supports food service and catering operations at the IUP-North Dining Hall. It is a full-time, paid opportunity for the Summer 2026 term. We welcome students from majors including Business Administration, Civil Engineering, Nursing, Public Health, and Nutrition.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and assemble food items using standardized recipes.
- Follow proper food storage standards.
- Set up workstations, including prep tables, service counters, and steam tables.
- Clean and sanitize workstations after use.
- Serve customers while anticipating their needs and ensuring satisfaction.
- Keep food items stocked at appropriate levels.
- Follow all safety policies, specifically regarding food safety and sanitation.
- Ensure the security of company assets.
What you'll need#
- Ability to demonstrate strong guest service skills.
- Must hold or be willing to acquire a food safety certification.
- Previous food service experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods.
- Willingness to wear a uniform or use Personal Protective Equipment as required.
